As I step down after 5 years as the CLSA Legislative Committee Chair I want to publicly thank all of the committee members who have worked extremely hard on legislative issues affecting the Land Surveying profession.
I would call everyone out by name but don't want to risk missing anyone. The committee over the last 5 years in addition to taking positions on revisions to law put forward by others has done the following (not a complete list):
• 8726 (n) related to statements of accuracies
• Additions to the Public Resource Codes: CSRN, CGC, COH and revisions to CCS
• 8771: Horizontal and vertical survey control
• Legislative Opinion regarding limitations of liability for surveyors
• Providing support and expertise to the legislature on various issues including the Cullen Earthquake Act
• Helped to create bridges to CEAC and ACEC
