Example Standards for Digital Data Submission

I'm working with a County Liaison Committe for my local CLSA Chapter. We're trying to improve the way this particular county indexes filed survey maps and corner records.

At our last meeting, one of the County staff we we're meeting with asked how supportive the local surveying community would be to submitting some type of digital map footprint that could speed up the indexing process. I volunteered to come up with a proposed set of voluntary digital submission guidelines that could be discussed with the County and our chapter members. (The digital submission of the map footprint would be in addition to, not a replacement of, the hard copy map submittal. I'm not talking about getting rid of the hard copy maps. I thought I better mention that so no one panicked.)

I'd like to know if there are any existing guidelines in use by other counties in California that I could look to for some guidance. I could create something from scratch, but I try not to work a lot more than is necessary. :]

At any rate, if you can link to some examples, I would appreciate it. I can certainly share what our committee comes up with.

I know that Orange has standards and I'm sure San Diego also has standards for this and they can probably be found on the county websites.
