Newhall Ranch - Development Activity in LA County

Today the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors conducted a public hearing for Landmark Village, the first development within Newhall Ranch. At the conclusion of the public hearing, the Board indicated it's intent to approve the project and directed County Counsel to prepare final findings and conditions and bring the case back for final approval. Landmark Village is known as Vesting Tentative Map No. 53108 which will create 422 lots on 296 acres consisting of 270 single-family lots, 17 multi-family lots (744 condominium units and 430 apartment units), 16 commercial lots, 119 lots for open space, public facilities, private driveways, recreation, a fire station, parks and schools. The associated Conditional Use Permit allows development of 1,444 dwelling units and 1.033 million square feet of nonresidential development within the 296 acres.

The next community within Newhall Ranch known as Mission Village will come before the Board of Supervisors later this month.

In recent months the Board approved a Bridge & Major Thoroughfare Construction Fee District for Newhall Ranch and sorrounding properties and authorized a funding package to advertise for the construction of a $55 million freeway interchange at State Route 126 and Commerce Center Drive which will be a major point of access into the future master plan community of 21,000 residences.

I just read where they are going to build 5000 homes around the Great Park in Irvine. The shock is they are different designs and multi colored, colors other than beige.
According to the article they did a survey and some of the responses were; we have 67 names for beige, we have 10 zip codes and 6 floor plans, oh sorry, I thought this was my house.
