Pretty dam scary place to be on Halloween

Post by mfarrauto »

Here's a few pictures from a scanning job yesterday. Cold, dark, wet, confined spaces can be scary enough without the thoughts of ghosts and goblins. After a while we got 'comfortably numb' to the surroundings, still not sure if that was a good thing.

Amazing, to be in the nest of man-eating intergalactic insectoids on Halloween!

It's in a subterranean discharge chasm of the 101yr old powerhouse house below Spaulding Dam. We were to as-built the PRV discharge horns that were falling apart beneath our feet.

I was expecting a picture of the river of slime (ie, Ghostbusters 2).

I am interested in the project. How are you controlling the scan scenes i.e. targeting or scan to scan registration? Which scanner are you using? Did you realize any performance issues due to the environment? How are you dealing with the scanner stability in presumably unstable environment i.e. special adapters? Do you have an environmental engineer for the harnesses, air quality testing, evacuation plans etc. or did Andregg have the staff and provide the plan? What is the deliverable?

Again, very interesting project.
