LS Exam date unknown?

Post by Hi-Note »

Has anyone else received a letter from Prometric authorizing you to take the test right after you schedule an appointment?

All you have to do is get online an provide the number ID (not) given above.

I called Prometric and they say they are unable to schedule exams at this time. Try again Monday.

Is this the new and improved system? It appears to be a mess. This is somewhat unsettling.

Transitioning to computer based testing that will eventually allow the examinee to take the test on a more flexible schedule than only one or two dates of the year. It's just getting up & running, so I'm not surprised that there would be such a glitch prior to the first exam given through that method.

Contact the Board for a more thorough explanation of what is going on and when it is likely to be resolved.

The ID is your NCEES ID, located on the top right corner of the page of the authorization mailed and emailed to you, located directly below the date. I registered successfully today online.

The most difficult part of the transition has been exporting the correct list of approved examinees from the state's VERY OLD applicant tracking system so we can provide to the CBT vendor on a regular basis.

Some of the initial notices went out without the ID listed as Hi-Note mentioned and it is my understanding that replacement notices are on the way. But as double proportion mentioned, the ID to use for this administration is the one that you received when registering with NCEES. If you can schedule your seat before receiving the replacement notice, go ahead and do so.

All I can say is WOW, not very confidence inspiring. I submitted my re-file and had to register with NCEES first to take the test in Visalia on April 12, a Thur.
Then I got a very ordinary looking letter from "Prometric" (?), which my wife said she would have tossed as junk mail because that's what it looked like! with no I.D. (though it eluded to one) and conflicting dates for my exam. (April 23 and March 23) both different than the one I had already. Same day I get an email with an attachment correcting the I.D. but not the dates! Then a few days later I get another email with another attachment correcting the date!
So...now I am supposedly taking the test in Camarillo on a Monday, the 23rd of April, in the afternoon. Well at least I have 11 more days to study!
I can only pray the test, grading and result notification goes a little more smoothly.
Hang in there Ric.

Billy,
Sorry you had so much trouble. I was able to register and schedule the test date smoothly. Sounds like it's all ironed out now. Good Luck!

In re-review of my Prometric letter I noticed the omission of the number to contact Prometric replaced with an error message. Change is tough but at the end of the day this format will eventually make the exam available more than once a year which will be a bonus.
