HP750C Plus 36" Plotter

Post by Gromatici »

I bought this plotter from a local aerial company a couple of years ago. I've used it sometimes 1x per week and sometimes daily for a couple of weeks at a time. It works great. If I have problems, then I re-start it (turn it off and on). Once in awhile it wouldn't recognize an ink cartridge, but re-starting eventually fixed the problem.

It won't work with Window 7 (no drivers) but works well with Windows XP. I have the serial cable for it too. It does well with construction color calcs and mono surveys and prints well on Mylar. However, I haven't used it for really nice color plots since the color seems a little off and you can see the lines on large color areas.

I also have a laptop I've used to "drive" the plotter since It has Windows XP on it and I have Windows 7 on my desktop. I just send over a PDF file and it works great.

I have a set of working ink in it now (just used it last week) and two black inks, and one of each color (over a $200 value). I'll also throw in a free roll of paper (used a few yards of it only).

I want $350.00 for it. You'll have to pick it up and it takes two people to install it on-site. It works well and I'm selling it AS-IS. You can download the drivers for Windows XP (or maybe I can find it) and I can give you a cheat sheet for the setup since it's not easy.

I'll sell the Laptop for $100 if you want it too. It has Wifi for your network.

Call me for any questions:

P.S. Table in background is already being picked up.

Yeah, windows 7 suks that way. I had one computer salesman tell me to upgrade my peripherals. I told him it will be a cold day in ...... before I spend $30k because a new $500 computer is too stupid to talk to my addons.

That's a good price. I paid more than that for a used one without the paper catcher or stand about 6 years ago.
They do a good job, a little temperamental but that's HP.

If you don't sell it I might be interested in making a offer just to get the stand and paper catcher.

The plotter is really only $150. I want more money for the ink ($45 each retail).

Yes, its a good plotter. I think it could be made to work with Windows 7, because other plotters are able to work using their Vista drivers, and I was able to get a 750C Plus working with Vista a few years back.

Good luck selling it.

I spent a couple of days trying to make it work and realized that just buying a used laptop to send plots to it was a more efficient use of my time.

Sometimes it is "Cheaper" to spend money instead of time.

Windows XP

The windows XP driver was free too. Maybe the Vista was but I couldn't get it to work. Anyway, plotter was a good work horse but I needed a plotter to print out ortho-photos.

The plotter was sold to another surveyor. Hope it gives him as much $$ as it did for me.
