lucas seminar

Post by bruce hall »

For those of you who couldn't/wouldn't/didn't attend the Lucas seminar in La Mirada last Friday, you missed out.

The fella gave more than a very good presentation. Wish he had been around (or sometone like him) making this pitch thirty years ago. Probably would have helped me be a better surveyor.

Bruce,

I also attended this seminar and as this being my first
post on this site, I agree your words would also apply
to me as well. One of kind Seminar for all Professional
Land Surveyors.

Thank you Mr. Lucas.

I did not attend, but I have a monthly subscription to his newsletter which I try to read carefully as I can before I doze off in my sandy desert bed. His many real-world examples show owners often have a dispute; but when surveyors get involved; they have the obligation to contact each other so a solution can be arrived at or they can prolong the dispute as adversaries. That must be where the obligation to act in a quasi-judicial function comes in. Peacemakers ? Let there be peace !

His book ( The Pincushion Effect) came with the price of admission.
I look forward to reading it. I enjoyed his presentation, he knows how to keep an audience alert.

Cudos to the Orange County Chapter for organizing the seminar. I was well worth the drive down from Ventura.

I am afraid Mr. Lucas was mostly preaching to the already converted. I wish I could have dragged a few others there.
