Release of California Central Valley Control Network Update

I'm happy to release a new version of the California Central Valley Control Network today. You can download all of the files for this release here:

This is Version 1.02 of Epoch Date 20120923. Here is what the new release includes:

- Several new secondary (passive) control points in San Joaquin County were added to the network. These points were set as control during the work performed by CLSA Central Valley Chapter volunteers last summer in an effort to preserve monuments from summer chip seal projects in San Joaquin County.

- Three (3) new NGS points in the Central Delta were added as part of a Hotchkiss Tract control survey performed by KSN. KSN graciously donated the static data that made this addition to the network possible.

- A handful of new active control points (PBO Stations) in the Central and Northwest Delta were added as part of the Hotchkiss Tract Addition.

- Instead of datasheets, I've created a KML file for all of the secondary control points in the network. I don't have it ready yet, but the KML file will eventually link to zip files with monument photos and recovery logs. I'll try to get that done before the next release.

I've added all of the information about the new control points to the basemap sheets and the control tables. They're also in the updated coordinate text files.

I also added some more details about the datum/map projections to the primary control point table.

Please let me know if you will be working in the Central Valley and would like to contribute data to the network. All you have to do is run your GNSS receiver on a control monument and send me the static data files. (Photos and descriptions of the monument are helpful also.)

I just made a few minor corrections and a couple of updates to the California Central Valley Control Network. You can download all of the files for this release here:

This is Version 1.03 of Epoch Date 20120923. Here is what the new release includes:

- I've added a new secondary control point just west of Stockton along Highway 4 that was part of some volunteer work KSN was providing to assist UOP civil engineering students with a senior project.

- I've added PBO Station "P258" as a primary control point.

- I corrected a mistake on the northing of P273 and the elevation of P781 in the primary control coordinate table.

How does that conform to PRC 8815.2?

8815.2. The epoch for a survey using CCS83 coordinate shall be the
published NGS or CSRC epoch of a published coordinate for a
controlling station used for that survey. Such surveys performed
after December 31, 1999, shall be based on the "1991.35" epoch or a
subsequent published NGS or CSRC epoch.
