Congratulations to all! The results these days are received a lot quicker--which is nice. No more waiting until August for an April exam.

Anybody know what the percentage of people that took the test passed?
Looks like 70 out of ____?

Because you have two tests by different entities now, you could have a completely different pool of people taking each test. Here are the stats for each exam...

April 2013 PE and LS Examination Statistics

Land Surveying Exams

National PLS
Tested 94
Passed 50
Pass %53%

State-Specific PLS
Tested 309
Passed 71
Pass % 23%

Thanks Ryan.

I didn't think about the different pools of people with the two exams.

Congratulations new Land Surveyors! Approximately 20% of this group of 70 passing candidates have taken the Sacramento CLSA LS Review course. This year, 60% of our candidates passd the California LS exam. Great job, by our students and instructors!

I'd like to use this space to personally thank the Sacramento CLSA for organizing the class, Caltrans for opening the office space to conduct the class, and each of the speakers for setting aside their time to come teach. Without your help, I'd be floundering trying to pass the exams.

Thank you,

Michael Chiara

LS #9000 here.

first attempt at the exam.

I'd have to say my biggest help after college was John Butcher's course and the DVD'S from CLSA for their review materials. worth every penny.

LS 9054 here. San Diego CLSA's LS review course was well worth the drive from OC. Mike Hart's PLSS presentations had me prepared to the point where I did not even open the Manual during the test. Jack Gechter and David Paul Johnson both did fine jobs setting that course up, and Caltrans provided nice facilities.

Following that up with John Butcher and Jaime Taynor's review seemed like the prefect set up for the test. They did a really good job at Cuyamaca.

Your diligent hard work made the difference for you; you earned it! Now go join your local CLSA Chapter, get involved and inspire others!

Channel Islands Chapter also held a review seminar with six of the new licensees having attended this year's classes, and three others from past classes. Thanks also to all the instructors that presented our classes this year, and every year.
