Didn't know they could offer services to add, show and analyze property lines, utilities, structures, etc.

Hmmm.... A local firm. Local to Sacramento, anyways. Maybe someone should call Mr. Walden for one of his "free" consultations.

Found this in the the "California Professional Foresters Law".

"758. Professional forester not authorized to practice civil engineering, land surveying, or landscape architecture.

This article shall not be construed to authorize a registered professional forester to practice civil engineering as defined in Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 6700) of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code or to practice land surveying as defined in Chapter 15 (commencing with Section 8700) of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code or to practice landscape architecture, as defined in Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 5615) of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code."

Seems fairly clear what services they cannot provide.

It's possible that this firm has an LS on staff or subcontracts with one. If so, they probably would need to mention that in their profile. I'm willing to contact this person via e-mail.

I firmly believe that it is up to each of us to assume responsibility for helping to improve our profession at every opportunity.

This includes actually doing something about issues such as this one, rather than sitting on the sidelines and complaining.

Support your JPPC or your PPC if you have one. You could even participate!
If you don't have one, talk to a few other like minded people and start one.

Be active in your CLSA or ACEC Chapter...become an officer...participate!!!

In almost any group, there will always be a smaller group that gets involved and runs things, while the balance pretty much just show up. Jump into the pond, the waters fine!
