We need to do a bunch of cross sections in a steep and brushy riparian corridor in which somewhat less refined measuring techniques will be necessary. I've used the mechanical EZ Arc in years past for reducing slope distances to horizontal and vertical, but it seems to have gone the way of the dinosaur with the advent of electronic hand held measuring devices. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?
Thank you,
Mark

Thanks!
Thank you for your generosity, Mr. King. : )
The only EZ Arc I could find on the web was listed on E-bay last month by Oregon State University and had already sold for an eye popping $18.63! It was like new and in the box with the manual and other documents.
I will contact you further on this through private e-mail.

Mission Accomplished
On behalf of DWR, I would like to thank Mr. King for his generosity in loaning us his personal EZ Arc Slope Reducer for measuring cross sections along Putah Creek in Yolo County. Having it at our disposal was truly a blessing and we were pleasantly surprised how well our closures were, when running between GPS control. It wasn't uncommon to close less than a tenth vertically, when incorporating a somewhat crudely attached laser rangefinder. : )
I will post a couple pic's of our project when I get a chance. Note: We used RTK also, as seen in one of the pic's.

Defund govt
To fully fund govt first the national debt would have to be paid. The US Govt is $18 TRILLION in debt, using 350 million people in the USA it would require $51,000 from every man, woman and child to pay it off. And that's just the Federal debt. Did you write your check yet?
