BTW, I have not forgotten that I promised to post some discussion papers on issues related to Geodesy and GNSS for Surveyors. Trust me - they are already written in my head and I just need to find time to put them on paper.

I am in the situation so many before have been in that now that I am retired I wonder how I ever found time to work. :-)

The first one will be on decision factors for surveyors to consider when deciding on a datum and epoch date for a project and how long term projects (5 plus years from initial topographic mapping to construction) are affected by datum decisions throughout the life of a project.

For anyone interested, one of the books recommended by Mr. Taylor ("Global Positioning System: Signals, Measurements, and Performance") is on sale. They charge $17 for shipping, but the out-the-door price was still a lot cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

In addition to the references on the Board's web site. I rely on "GPS for Land Surveyors" by Van Sickle and "Global Positioning System: Signals, Measurements, and Performance" by Pratap Misra and Per Engle.

Most of my GPS education came from reading research documents published by Soler, Snay and others from NGS as well as other institutions and my own experiences.
