Rain Day?

What do your field crews do on a rainy day? I'm looking for ideas. This is for the public agency guys.

If it's really rainy (to the point you just can't work, which is quite a bit of rain), then there's usually a fair amount of simple drafting that can be done, not to mention cleaning up the survey room or organizing the truck. It turns into a "do all the tasks that never get done" day.

In a lot of cases there is still field recon to be done that doesn't require getting too soaked that can use up at least part of the day.

For Public Agency peeps, I would think recon or benchmark maintenance/recovery stuff would be ideal.

Calibrate the tribrachs, or if not, just check them and see how things are looking.

Calbrate rod bubbles.

Organizing/indexing old notes. Organizing miscellaneous maps. Any old maps that are in the drawers that people do not know about?

Cleaning/organizing the survey rig, if needed.

add to that, scan maps, asisist roads with traffic control when need for things like trees in the road, drive roads and verify Post mile markers, and other inferstructure, relief snow plow operators, we are a small agency, all positions have "other duties as assigned" in the job descriptions.

That sounds pretty much like what we do. I was just wondering if there was anything I'd missed. Thanks for the input.
