Locating old brass pins

Post by MikeTurnrose »

I need to look for some old brass pins that were set for an old 1926 subdivision in a hillside area. One of them was found flush with the top of curb. They are about 1/4-1/2" size. The others I will be searching for lie in the pavement area of the street. I don't think Schoenstedt will pick up brass, but I'm not sure. Any tips for trying to locate these? Thanks.

Try getting a metal locator that you see guys using at the beach. They pick up non ferrous metals. A cheap one can be found for about $100.

Thought someone told me that people use a White's metal detector to locate those Santa Clara county types that are brass plugs in concrete.
