Fun with FEMA

Post by mpallamary »

I just wrapped up a two hour interview with NBC over problems with FEMA mapping policies. I did some local media on this a year or two ago. I stated that back then there were a lot of problems with what was going on and that I thought the process was corrupt. Check this out! Flood Certificate you say?

Garbage in = Garbage out

The science and engineering data they enter into the programs that generate the water surface elevations is often pure Hocus Pocus.

Two words DEFUND GOVT.

Our govt has become no different than some 3td world toilet, those with the money own the govt.
Defund govt
To fully fund govt first the national debt would have to be paid. The US Govt is $18 TRILLION in debt, using 350 million people in the USA it would require $51,000 from every man, woman and child to pay it off. And that's just the Federal debt. Did you write your check yet?

Are you saying these are fraudulent LOMAs? If these are good elevation certificates, there's no issue here, is there?

Maybe, but that is the problem. I understand a lot of them are not good. Here in Southern California they mismapped a lot of areas. Along the coastline of La Jolla, the newly superimposed flood lines are plotted about fifty feet too far north. Consequently, all kinds of properties, located 40 feet above the bluff on the mesa are now all shown underwater. There is a google file from FEMA you can import. The story I am working on involves people trying to get FEMA to correct the incredibly bogus FIRMs, to no avail. The TV crew interviewed a guy on the 4th floor of a condominium who is paying $1200 a year for flood insurance. The story I did a couple of years ago involved some folks who were maybe 80 feet above the flood zone based on an erroneous FIRM. This is one I was involved in. I assisted the homeowners pro bono to get this straightened out. By the way, they still haven't corrected the maps!!!!! http://www.kusi.com/story/19095044/just-plain-clueless

The govt hates to admit it made a mistake, opens it up for lawsuit. In the case of people being forced to buy flood ins due to incorrect maps if the govt said "opps we goofed" then homeowners could sue for the ins they had to pay due to govt error.

In recent years I have had issues with the USPS and SS. Both know there are problems but nobody cares because the parasite has grown so big change is impossible. I have experienced local post masters and SS supervisors refuse to talk to me, telling their underling they are in a conference or some such lie.
