Survey Field Coordinator
The Survey Field Coordinator works directly with the Survey Project Manager on various tasks associated with the field surveying, utility coordination, pot-hole coordination, construction staking and as-built surveys on natural gas pipeline and valve projects throughout southern and central California. The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating daily work schedules for all assigned survey and mapping subconsultants in their respective region under the Sempra Energy 10 year Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP). The Survey Field Coordinator will be part of the PSEP Project Management Organization (PMO) working directly with the Southern California Gas Company and San Diego Gas and Electric Company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate directly with construction contractors, inspectors, project managers, and construction managers for daily and weekly survey construction staking and as-built survey schedules.
• Provide Quality Assurance (QA) review of construction staking and as-built surveys.
• Coordinate with Gas Company Regions and Districts to communicate field schedules, arrange access to gas company facilities and to arrange standby and mark-out resources.
• Provide oversight of subconsultant field survey, potholing and utility locating resources for schedule, quality and safety.
• Coordinate with the Safety Manager for on-site safety evaluations and reporting.
• Coordinate with Land Services, Agencies and private property owners for access rights and terms of use for field survey, pothole and utility locating crews.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software to produce boundary exhibits, construction staking packages, topographic surveys, as-built drawings and other various survey related maps or exhibits.
• Coordinate with subconsultant surveyors, aerial mapping, pot-holing and utility locating companies for project setup and quality control.

Training and Experience
• Bachelors in a surveying or engineering is preferred
• Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT) is preferred
• Minimum 4 years experience as a Survey Technician or equivalent post-secondary (college level) surveying and/or related engineering education is preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
• Experience with Trimble Business Center is preferred.
• Project experience with public utilities, energy services, and transportation is preferred.
• Gas pipeline experience and/or construction experience preferred.
• Must be willing to travel throughout southern and central California.

Salary is commensurate on years of qualifying experience, education, and qualifications. Position may pay up to $28 - $43 per hour. Final hourly rate is subject to change and will be determined by approved billing classification via written notice by client. Applicants MUST meet all REQUIRED experience and education requirements.
