Some years back David Hobbs was able to get hold of a spread sheet that listed some 400 field books of surveys that the Allin Brothers did in Pasadena between the years of 1887 to 1940.
I cannot find my copy of the spread sheet, probably on another HD and I was hoping that someone could email me a copy of this file.

I have an older drive hooked up to a device that allows me to read what is on it. The spreadsheet is on this old drive, but unfortunately it is in the desktop area of that drive and I am not allowed to access that. The drive is formatted With WIN XP and my current system is running Win 7 in 64 bit.
Oh well, always ways to trick a computer. I did go into bios to have the older drive become the boot drive but that didn't work because I believe my motherboard/ram is too advanced for 32 bit Win XP

You can unlock it.
I can't remember how to do it but found instructions by googling around the last time I did it a couple of years ago.
I have an 80gb hard drive which came out of a 17" hp pavilion laptop which died (Windows XP). I had the same problem, files I needed which are located in MyDocuments. I unlocked it and was able to get everything including stuff on the desktop.

Found a copy
I checked my sent email and was able to find a copy of Allin Bros. I have attached the xls file to those interested.
WARNING:
Using this file to research and find original monuments will take away from you the comfort zone (and cop out) of the following:
1. C/L intersections with either none or shaky pedigree
2. Proration... Just toss this one out the window
3. Math adventures
4. I used the city centerline notes.
5. This is my professional 'opinion' I cant help it if that 80 year old fence was built in the wrong place by a foot.
