Duties: Under the direction of the Field Crew Supervisor and Project Managers, you will be responsible for various land surveying tasks, including construction staking, topographic mapping, and boundary surveying. Responsibilities also include maintenance and operation of Trimble GNSS and Trimble Robotic instruments. Reports to the Field Survey Supervisor on a daily basis and able to identify all extra work, restaking, or potential backcharges. Reports and keeps accurate written records including survey notes and records any communications of field requests.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of field surveying experience including boundary surveying, construction staking, topographic mapping and geodetic control surveys
- Must either be a member of the Union of Operating Engineers Local 3 and completed the Surveyor Apprentice Program, or holds a current license as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of California
- Must be familiar with the principles of construction surveying, including the ability to interact with site superintendents and clients
- Must have the ability to direct, review and evaluate the performance of field staff and have a desire to teach proper field techniques
- Must have technical experience operating Robotic Total Stations, GPS equipment, digital levels (Scanning experience is a plus)
- Must be a team player and willing to help foster a positive work environment
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
