I was curious about the significance of the icons shown at the left side of the topics (threads), and a little searching produced this synopsis. (I haven't tested the list, so it may not be accurate for this board.)
A red icon means that you haven't read it yet.
A blue/grey icon means that you've read it.
A scrolling icon means that it's a hot topic (default is 25 replies).
A red star in the icon means that you posted the topic
A light-bulb-shaped icon is sticky (at the top) (I think)
A lock in the icon means the topic is locked.
An exclamation point in the icon may be part of the light-bulb sticky thing.

Anybody else find those scrolling icons annoying?

Re: Topic Icons
I agree that they're distracting and don't provide much useful information. But I bet the admin would like to concentrate on the big issues - like spammers - for now, so I'm willing to hold my complaints for awhile.

The blue is too dark.
