Sacramento: Presentation to Attorneys -- Anyone Interested?

A client of mine is trying to find a land surveyor willing to give a 1-hour presentation to a Sac County Bar Association meeting in May. The topics to be covered are "updates in surveyor standards and methodologies, tips for attorneys, and/or ways transactional real property attorneys can help avoid litigation over surveys." This isn't in my wheelhouse, and I'm too busy anyway. Any volunteers? No compensation other than a nice lunch, and possibly some business development.

In a room full of lawyers, although it's likely that most will be polite and appreciative of the info you bring to share, given the personality types that are within any group of attorneys, there is likely to be at least one or two who will feel the need to challenge you, either in an attempt to demonstrate their "superior" intellect, or just because they love the challenge of a debate.

If you hold onto the confidence that, first and most importantly, you know the subject better than any who would try to openly challenge you, and second, that the audience is there to hear you speak and not the would-be challenger, that you have both the microphone and the floor, you have the distinct advantage in all respects. If the challenger won't let it rest, you can simply acknowledge that they have some interesting points that you would be happy to discuss afterward, making it clear that you wish to respect everyone else's time.

Hope you adapt it for a survey audience afterward to present at a chapter meeting or the annual conference.
