Hello posters and lurkers...
We are asking for your help with potential topics, speakers, and ideas for webinars to be presented in 2017. Are there any topics or ideas that you'd like to hear about? Know that "one guy/gal" who seems to have so much great information to share? Don't be afraid to volunteer him/her so that we can ask if they would be willing to speak. Post away or, if you're more comfortable sharing your thoughts via email, write the committee here: StateWorkshop@oc-surveyors.org
Thanks!

Re: 2017 Webinar Schedule
Here are a few of the upcoming topics rounding out 2016 and covering half of 2017 (still one-half to go!):
Important Changes in the PLS Application Process
Low Distortion Projections
Unlicensed Practice Warning to Firms
Network RTK Systems in CA
Phasing Boundary Surveys
GIS for Surveyors
Navigating the Legal Maze of Drones
Subsidence for Surveyors
GNSS Survey Standards
We're also looking into some additional ideas like:
Online GNSS Processing
Traffic Safety for Surveyors
FAA Airport Control Surveys
We'd like to hear from more people on what they would like to see offered.
An example of an area that may not be covered often are the interests of the public sector surveyor ... are they different than that of the private sector?
Speak up (don't lurk) if there is something we can try and bring to a webinar or workshop that would interest you. Post here in this thread to spur others or e-mail the committee at: StateWorkshop@oc-surveyors.org

Re: 2017 Webinar Schedule
What is tomorrow's webinar "Important Changes in the PLS Application Process" about? I read somewhere else that it is about actually about identity theft enforcement, which doesn't interest me. Thanks.

Here is the one that doesn't interest you ... scares the poop out of me ... imagine the trouble it causes when someone is impersonating you and you are called in when boundary disputes arise and you have no idea what they are talking about!Anthony Maffia wrote:What is tomorrow's webinar "Important Changes in the PLS Application Process" about? Thanks. I hope CLSA will archive them for later perusal. The webinar on the new geodetic datum was very informative.
