Ok, William Magee, I'll bite.

I believe I know the letter you are referencing. Now that you have brought it up, for the enjoyment of all, why don't you bring the readers up to speed by filling in some of the details. No need for cloak and dagger shenanigans or innuendo- after all, it is a community message board. We should let everyone in on the fun, right? It might make an interesting read to detail the events leading up to the letter and end with the letter attached. It is only an idea. It is your story. Please take your time.

I will begin the story and you can add the facts in your own words:

After it was discovered by the directors that CLSA had been expending hundreds of thousands of dollars annually without any written contracts ....[please take it from here William Magee].

Take your time William Magee. Today you posted only to remove it within the hour - most readers, including myself, missed it.

I will help refresh your memory. As a director I was asking questions, with the support of the Orange County chapter, about the CLSA finances, the taxes and an accounting of the money (remember the special meeting in October, 2014 to expel me for daring to question CLSA governance?) The Orange County chapter, with a majority vote of the Board of Directors, asked that a committee prepare a contract for our managment services. A contract which would protect the association by placing cost controls and accounting of services. Also, about this same time, we asked that CLSA put in place a succession plan which would include someone outside of the managment company having a complete copy of all records. There were several people crying bloody murder, especially members of the Past Presidents Advisory Council, while Orange County honored their fidicuary responsibilities.

Patient readers, it is important to know the events which lead up to "the letter" Magee has chosen to resurrect.

Take it from here William Magee. Don't forget the role played by the individual past presidents. Please take the time to name them individually - so as not to soil the innocent. Especially important are those that provided a "vote of confidence" for the business as usual model that existed at the time, the former CPA and the former Executive Director.

Lots of "editing" going on in this thread. The censors must be angry again.

I just confirmed that this was the case, although I thought so when I saw Jim's post, yesterday.

None of the edits or removals have been made by the Administrator.

While the Admin may contact the poster to discuss a particular post and ask for some form of self-edit, if necessary, it is very rare to do so. Unless there is something in the post that must be dealt with immediately, the Executive Committee is contacted and a discussion ensues before any action is taken.

This is a private forum. We have a responsibility to our members to ensure that the forum is kept out of potential problems due to law suits, etc. it is our belief that open, professional discourse should be protected and allowed.

My two cents worth...

The explanation is quite simple. I elect not be be associated with Mr. William Magee. His comments are inflammatory, insulting and counter productive. He hides behind a mask yet has intimate knowledge of the inner working of the association. I do not think this benefits the association and it concerns me.

It is called making a choice.

No worries, Michael.

Based on some of the posts, I wanted to be clear that the missing posts were not at the hands of the Administrator.

Self-censoring is sometimes a good thing. Imposed censorship often is not.
