Recognized as a leader in surveying, mapping & GIS services, our organization has an immediate full-time openings for exceptional Project Surveyors to work in one of our Southern California Offices (Orange, Rancho Cucamonga, San Diego). The ideal candidate must be available immediately and may be required to work overtime. This person will report to the Project Manager and will carry out a broad range of project assignments requiring specialized knowledge of and experience associated with land surveying principles and practices.

Responsibilities:
• Plans, develops and carries out the technical requirements of a large and intricate Surveying and Mapping project and/or a number of small projects with complex features.
• Initiates work on the project at hand, and prepares job status worksheets as the project progresses.
• Gives initial instructions for field crew set up and performs a job site inspection ensuring control points are aligned with scope of project and proper equipment is being used.
• Provides input for proposals to estimate the cost and establish a budget and schedule for the technical requirements of the project.
• Informs the Project Manager, daily, of any major problems, time delays or potential cost overruns. Maintaining company’s schedule, scope and accuracy standards or Quality Control Points through periodical meetings and or written updates.
• Works independently or under the guidance of the Project Manager and Regional Director to solve technical problems within the initial scope of the work. May request change in scope if unanticipated problems develop as the work progresses.
• Participates in a job completion review to critique both the positive and negative aspects of the teams’ performance on the project.
• Keeps abreast of new methods and developments affecting this particular area of expertise.
• Coordinates and reviews the work of project team of Surveyors, Assistant Surveyors, CAD Operators, Survey Technicians, and Drafters as needed.
• Provides input to Regional Director in annual performance reviews of project team members.

Requirements:
• Ability to work as a team member on large projects with aggressive schedules
• Must possess high level of integrity in accordance with Towill, Inc. operations, standards, policies and procedures and lead by example.
• Possess strong attention to detail
• Be a self-motivated team player
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ideal candidate will have a BS in Surveying and Mapping or at least 6 years industry experience.
• Must possess a valid California Professional Land Surveyors License
• Must be proficient using AutoCAD Civil 3D (2013 or later) and/or MicroStation
• Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook.
• Must be able to begin work as soon as possible.
• Must be in possession of a valid drivers’ license (Class C) and a satisfactory background and driving clearance.
• Must have excellent and effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must possess the ability to see the organization as a whole and understand the interrelationships of the various functions of the organization and the impact they have on one another.
• Must possess and demonstrate basic technical understanding of mapping and land surveying including; Legal Principles of Boundary Determinations, Sectionalized Land Subdivisions, California State Plane Coordinate System, California Statues regulating the practice of Land Surveying and the Subdivision of Land, Control and Geodetic Surveys, Aerial Photogrammetric Surveys, Survey Accuracies and Precisions, Uses and Capabilities of modern Surveying Instruments.
