Butte County Surveyor
Anyone know who's signing Records of Survey in Butte County these days? I'm in the process of preparing one, but the most recent example map I have is from 2010.
Thanks!
Thanks!

It is Bill Bridgnell. He signs as:
William H. Bridgnell, PLS 8096
Deputy County Surveyor
Attached is a pdf of the signature block we use.

Re: Butte County Surveyor
Before Mike submitted his post I phoned the number above. I got voicemail, but Bill Bridgnell was one of the voicemail options, so I emailed him to inquire.
P.S. That name rang a bell, so I looked up an old project and saw that he reviewed a Corner Record I submitted in 2008. His title was Associate Surveyor at the time.
Thanks!

Re: Butte County Surveyor
I haven't heard back from the county yet, so I'll pose my other question here: the fee document I found on the Butte County website shows the ROS checking fee being $163 per hour with an $800 deposit. However, that document is dated 2013. Is that still the correct fee?
Thanks (again)!

Yes, $800 time billing deposit is still correct.

Ed:
SLO county should be the model agency for how to check a map for the entire state. $250 fee and you get your check prints back in a week! Compare this to Santa Barbara County that puts you through 4 checks minimum with a different map checker for each submittal. This process takes about 2 years to record your map. Meanwhile, your client refuses to pay after the first few months.

Re: Butte County Surveyor
I used to check maps with Ed at MNS and at Quad Knopf under another PLS. Most people don't know what they are doing as far making a proper map for recording. But usually after three checks, it should be up to snuff. Although, there are always exceptions......
