New Corner Record Form
It was brought up last night at the East Bay CLSA Chapter meeting by BPELSG representative Ric Moore and Dallas Sweeney that the new Corner Record form will be mandated to use come April 1, 2017.
It was nice to meet Dallas, and congratulations on becoming part of the BPELSG team. Great presentation and conversation as always by BPELSG.

Re: New Corner Record Form
Aside from the new form are the new Board Rules in regards to what must be shown on a CR. Here is the new Board Rules language and what the new form looks like.

The Notice of Regulatory Action (http://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/about_us/464_n ... action.pdf) shows that the new regulations and form are effective April 1, 2017.
You can read further about this regulatory change here: (http://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/about_us/rulemaking.shtml)...including statements of reasons for the changes, which includes the comments received from CLSA's Legislative Committee and others prior to the final regulations being adopted.

Re: New Corner Record Form
In looking over the new CR form, on Page 1 at the top left, it seems that the E-W, dashed, half section line is misplaced and is situated under the section, not in it.
Also, the line separating the submitting surveyor's stamp area from the county surveyor's stamp area is placed too low; it could be moved up a bit. I know this is somewhat trivial, but I have received comments over the years from various county surveyors--especially those who like really big stamps--that they don't have enough room for them.

I'm sure Ric will read this and see your comments Lee. You missed that page 2 of 2 is also missing on the adopted form, lol. This was identified during his presentation at the CLSA meeting.
Furthermore, this new form is going to be a pdf fillable so that it is easy to fill out. It will be available for an electronic submittal. It currently is with the County Surveyors to work out any bugs they may have.

Lee,
I know that but look at the bottom of page 2, the lable "Page 2 of 2" is missing. That is unless you have a Board certified decoder pen, but I hear those are hard to get, lol.Page 2 is there. Just keep scrolling.

Re: New Corner Record Form
Should we start using this new form now or do we need to wait until April 1? I have some corner records to draft and I would like to start with the correct form, I don't really care which one so long as I don't have to do it twice. At the rate I'm moving they may not be filed before April...

Keep using the current form and if you submit a corner record prior to April 1, it will be filed on the current form.David Kendall wrote:Should we start using this new form now or do we need to wait until April 1? All new CR's submitted on April 1, 2017 will need to be on the new form.

Why was CCR 464 10e deleted?

Re: New Corner Record Form
Good question Larry. I don't see any mention of 464 10e in any of the published Rule Making Notices. ... other than in the Adoption.
Was modification, or elimination of 464 10e anticipated by anyone (other than the Board)?
Is anyone monitoring these actions on behalf of CLSA? isn't that a Leg Committee task?

Re: New Corner Record Form
If I remember correctly, I think 464 10e was deleted because it was (almost word for word) a restatement of the old 8771(b) from the LS Act. With the revisions to 8771 a couple years ago, they could have re-worded that section too, or they decided to delete it altogether rather than restate.
