Sounds pretty good, hopefully we get a more "official" preliminary schedule before long so I can get the travel budget request in. Unfortunately without something to attach to the travel request a lot of people who work for agencies or larger companies won't be able to commit to attend.

You would think we could all bury the hatchet
and partner with NALS. I think we would all
make more money for the order and students.

Mr. Smith:

What is this hachet you speak of? As a card carrying member of CLSA and NALS am I betraying my own? Need I worry about surveyor on surveyor crime if I venture across state lines? Is Trump somehow to blame?

Dave,

I don't think that he is referring to bad blood between the actual organizations, but the fact that AMS is the executive management company for NALS and the resentments on one or both sides of CLSA's parting ways with AMS is a hindrance to organizing a successful joint conference at this time.

Yes, the odds of a joint conference with NALS while AMS is under contract to them is beyond not likely to happen. Even this outsider knows it was a bitter divorce that won't soon be forgotten or forgiven.

For the record I just paid the two hun to continue to be a card carrying member.
It looks like there is only a finite quantity of Surveyors willing to be members
of organizations and a short list of speakers. Just makes sense for us
to organize together for a robust conference as well as promoting are profession for the future.

Full conference info just came out in the CLSA ENews blast. Here is the link including a preliminary schedule, which seems to have most of the slots filled in.

Looks like a good program.

Just downloaded and have to announce a correction. I am listed (as a speaker) of being with Homestead Land Surveying. Sadly, HLS was a victim of the recession. The program should list me as being with the State Lands Commission.

Even with the behind-the-scenes challenges that caused the delay in getting the program out, aside from the one knucklehead who'll be speaking all day Monday, this looks like the best lineup of topics & speakers I've seen in a few years. It's been a while since there have been two sessions I wanted to attend in almost every time slot. I may even have to send in a videotape to handle my speaking sessions so that I can attend other sessions.

Hope everyone got the latest CLSA eNews; conference schedule is out. Here is a link to the PDF with the conference program:

Impressive array of speakers in my opinion.

Interesting graphic on the brochure: CLSA 2.0

I wonder if that refers to the second 50 years?
