The passing of Richard P. Siegmund, LS 3490, CLSA President 1986

Richard P. Siegmund, LS 3490, CLSA President 1986, and founding member and first president of the Riverside/San Bernardino Chapter of CLSA, passed away in his sleep, Monday, March 27, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. If you knew Richard, you knew that he wanted to be out in the field surveying when he passed and up to just a few months ago, he was still doing his own field work at 84. (Borrowed from an email I received, with some additions I made).

A “Celebration of Richard’s Life” has been planned by his family for Saturday, April 15 @ 2:00 PM.

All who knew Richard and/or benefitted from his teaching, mentoring or just what he contributed to our profession are invited.

I had the pleasure of serving with Dick on the local JPPC for the last three years, which he founded over 40 years ago. He resigned his chair on the committee at our Nov. 30, 2016 meeting and we lost a great source of expertise and local knowledge that day. Rest in peace Mr. Siegmund.
