Latest county for PLS and PE license numbers

Post by JasonCamit »

Does anyone know what the latest count is for licensed PLS's and PE's? I am looking for the last licensed number assigned for both PLS and PE, recently licensed.

I was about to answer 9368 because I just looked it up about two weeks ago after a discussion at my office. They added two in the last two weeks.

I think Warren Smith, San Joaquin County Surveyor (and frequent contributor to this forum) has the lowest number of all County Surveyors at 4842. Rich Briner, El Dorado County Surveyor (the only elected one in the State) is second with 5084. At 5684, I am after those gentlemen, but 9370 sure makes mine "feel" old.

Currently, Gary Antone, County Surveyor of Tehama County has the lowest CS number at 4734. He is also RCE 36077.

There aren't many of us pre-82 LS's around ...

Does the board give the number of "active" licenses, specifically PLS?

The board should add the older licensees to their online database. I'd like to lookup RCE No. 00001

4231 PLS in 2013. Want to bet that it is nearer to 4000 now?

Texas has went from 3000+ active approximately 20 years ago to 2400 Active in recent years. Gentlemen we are a numerically declining and an aging profession.

In my late 40's to my late 50's I was consistently at the median age for the profession. Now I am only about 3 years older than the median.

When I got the notice that I had passed the exam in 1972 I immediately called the Board to ask if I could get number 4000 because I knew they were going to issue it that year.
I was told the numbers were already assigned.
OK.
I must have messed up the system because 4000 has never been issued!
