I was saddened to learn of the passing of Dave Goodman recently.

I know the Sacramento Chapter has had a scholarship named in honor of Dave Goodman for years.
Attached is a picture of Dave congratulating one of the scholarship recipients.
Dave was a big part of the Caltrans training program for many years and was involved in the video LS exam prep program.
A fine example of the best Surveyors have to offer.
RIP Dave Goodman

Re: RIP Dave Goodman
I first meet Dave at a joint CLSA/ASCM conference in Monterrey in 1983 or 84. As one of several CSU Fresno students hosted by CLSA to attend, Dave was the ultimate host. Since that time, each time we would cross paths, Dave would always take a moment to catch up, which was a way of mentoring. He always took to time to listen and add a tidbit. Dave would welcome people into a group and make them feel accepted and a part. I am who I am today because of people like Dave.
Thank you for making a difference in my career and life.

Met Dave G in 1986 my first surveying job at Caltrans in LA. He was an inspiration for starting my career and assisted me all he could. Both him and Arnie Ludwig (sp). Rest in Peace!

Re: RIP Dave Goodman
It was Dave Goodman's efforts that coordinated getting so many CSU Fresno students summer work with CALTRANS, back in the 80's.
One of the best ever conference presentations was his many talks about surveying the pyramids, and his hobby of photography.
