I've got a few good folks confirmed as members, including at least Warren as a corresponding member. There are some parts of the State that I would like to find someone from so as to get a good spread of representation from differing regions. For the most part, southern CA seems pretty well represented for now. But we, as a committee will be asking other experienced surveyors for input from time to time.

Still trying to get verification form a few. I'll give it another week before I assume any who haven't responded are no longer interested. The list as it stood as of a week ago (including those who were on it at the beginning of 2017 but who have not yet responded to verify continued interest) are listed at the beginning of the PPC report to the BoD.

My opinions are solely based upon what I know. That being said, four years of college relative to civil and land surveying, 46 years in this industry, attending dozens of ACSM/CLSA and NGS seminars and training programs, and taught and mentored in southern California by some of the finest Land Surveyors in this profession. I, am the first to say, I am NOT a lawyer. Are there more knowledgeable surveyors in the industry, YES, and, I personally know some which humble me (some on this Forum). I do appreciate the positive comments above from my peers, whether they agree or have constructive criticism. I can assure you that my heart is, and always has been to help the public, and to benefit our profession. It is something I am very proud of, in that I carry on a legacy of professionals, being my father and my two uncles (all Civil Engineers, and pre-82 surveyors).
We are all on the same side here, and, for the most part want the same thing. I do want to say I appreciate your opinions and expecially Mr. Page's book. (I always liked a good book)

I recognize your stated perspective and I have little doubt your actions were without malice. A classic example of Hanlon’s Razor.

PLS5528, your good intentions notwithstanding, I suspect the respondent may not readily accept your self ascribed well-placed heart is sufficient for having made the respondent endure the financial and stressful hearing process. After the final order and appeal period has lapsed, I suggest a handwritten apology note may be in order and then, possibly a step back from BPELSG expert work.

There may be some solace for you in knowing there are others within the BPELSG technical expert pool that have done far worse than you have described here. In some sense, I believe you may also be an unwitting victim of a flawed enforcement process. Have you considered this single misunderstanding of the legal description writing i.e. it must be based on record information, may be the reason you were selected for this particular expert assignment? Perhaps you were chosen due to, rather than in spite of, this particular blind spot in your CV? An unsuspecting pawn used to exact another persons means to an precise end?

There is a specific word for this predicament and an unwritten commonality shared by many BPESLG technical experts, including PLS5528, ultracrepidarianism. And yes, we are on the same side.
