Bill Slepnikoff PLS 5701

Post by PLS7393 »

It is a sad day in the Bay Area Surveying community, as I was notified that Bill Slepnikoff PLS 5701, Santa Clara County Surveyor passed away last night.
I know no details, but Bill was a good person who ran a smooth and fair County Surveyor's Office.
My condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
RIP Bill

Oh that's terrible news! I'm so sorry to hear that. I never met Bill but he was pleasure to work with.

Sad news, indeed. I was fortunate to work off and on with Bill in Orinda and elsewhere in the Bay Area back in the 90s and enjoyed our time together very much. It was around 1996 and we did topos on 52 cell phone tower sites. It was my first opportunity to use GPS and Bill was an excellent instructor. Fare thee well, Bill.......

Here's a group shot of four County Surveyors at the common point of their respective Counties. Bill is decked out in green.

My heart has been heavy since i heard the news.

Bill was just awesome!!!

He was one of the most mellow, calm, surveyors I knew. Always relaxed from what I remember.

When applying to take the exam, I was short a couple signatures. He told me to come by and volunteer at the county which I did. He signed for me. What a great great guy. When I filed my 1 and only ROS, he signed that too. He will truly be missed!

Thank you Bill!

Bill was genuinely a great person. He will surely be missed.
His wife said he loved his job. And it’s good to know he left us doing what he loved.
