Monterey County maps

Post by MikeT »

Hello.

Does anyone know how to get record maps here? I see there is a GIS, but it doesn't look like there are links to
record maps there.

Thanks.

I've never surveyed there, but perhaps an email to the County Surveyor will point you in the right direction...

Actually, it is quite easy to download and print filed maps or corner records from the Monterey County GiS.

On the GIS page, select Parcel Report Viewer, Zoom into the area of interest, in the left side window, select Land Records, and then Parcels and Survey Records. The colored nodes are links to filed maps and corner records. At the top, select "I want to...", then select find data on the map. Window the area of interest, and a listing on the left side will give the references to the public records. The .tif or .pdf images can be downloaded.

Open the 'Layers' and check on 'Survey Records' or anything else you need. Next using "Find data.." select the colored node for your desired record map/data.

You can also click, hold & drag over an area to grab all records there. Switching to a table is best for this..

I actually was looking for the GIS site, something similar to most other counties, where you can download the survey maps, but apparently I need to give them a call or have a trip to get the maps.

I had a link, but it is busted now. Contact Michael Goetz, the County Surveyor. He will set you up.
