I will have 40 years of active membership under my belt in 2019. How long have you been a member?

Excellent! That is a long time. After becoming a member back in 1979 in San Diego, I became the chairman of the education committee. I was chapter president in 1983 and then spent several years as a director. I worked many years on various committee including Chairmen of National Surveyors week in 1984 in addition to numerous conference committees.

I first joined a bit before you Mike (about 6 or 8 years), but I did not stay current when I was out of state.
Not too sure of the total number of years of membership.
CLSA is a great organization, despite the ups and downs.

I'm guessing that I joined when I got licensed in 1984, but it's possible that I waited until I hung out my own shingle in 1993.

I didn't join until 1986 - quite a few years after I was licensed. I could have when I was an LSIT in 1976, but the newsletter wasn't circulated among the field crews back then. It was snail mail only, of course, and I was working in a bit of a backwater.

Fun post here Michael, but like so many other posts the majority of individuals don't want to respond for whatever reason.
How many others can say they first joined CLSA as a student member, and for whatever reason they have continued to pay dues.
I can proudly stand up and say I have!!! That makes me at 30+ years as a member in good standing, even though I haven't paid yet for 2019, lol!

I believe I joined in the mid to late 80's and I have been a corporate member since 1991. I began working for a Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm while in high school and full time in 1979.
