Below is an interesting article in the S.F. Chronicle regarding recruitment of operating engineers employing simulators:

Oh if I were a wealthy man . . . what a fun toy!

After one reads this article, one must ask oneself, 1). why would anyone choose to go into surveying; when it involves 2). a rigorous education and a minimum of six years work experience; which then qualifies you to 3). sit for TWO Board examinations; in order to 4). receive compensation (maybe?) $50 per/hr + benefits; THEN . . . THEN . . . after years of practice . . . having certain members of the Wafen SS, hundreds of miles from where you practice, do all they can to make life miserable for a licensee . . . and 5). causing a possible effect of eliminating competition and quashing any aspirations of someone desiring to become a land surveyor (geomatic engineer).
