Huitt-Zollars’ Irvine, CA office has a full-time office Survey Technician opportunity. This role supports the survey manager and survey team in a wide variety of land surveying projects for large commercial construction projects, and has the option to work from our Ontario, CA office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Responsibilities:

Verify accuracy of field survey data including measurements and calculations conducted on survey projects.
Review and process results of field survey data including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and boundaries.
Search public records to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
Prepare metes and bounds descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, easements or other legal documents.
Perform quality control checks of plats and drawings prepared by other technicians.
Ensure schedules and productivity objectives set by a supervisor for preparation of survey plats and drawings are achieved.
Produce CAD drawings to include boundary surveys, topographic surveys, land title surveys, and ALTA/ACSM land title surveys.
Assist in providing calculations for field staking and support of field crews if needed.


Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years' survey tech experience using AutoCAD and preparing plats, easements and topographic surveys
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Solid listening, writing and verbal communications skills
Ability to take direction, and work independently or with a team
Knowledge of land surveying techniques, principals and standards
Proven work history, strong work ethic and positive attitude
Surveyor in Training (SIT) preferred but not required
