SB - 556

Post by marchenko »

Hello, does SB-556 actually restrict land surveying to sole proprietorship and LLC's? Seems like I worked for a 'inc.' once, heck I might today. Or am I reading this wrong? I am assuming that there is a waiver for government employees. Any other feedback on the bill would be welcome. Please feel free to share any thoughts or opinions.

Thank you, George Marchenko

No, it simply requires other business entities to obtain a certificate from BPELSG authorizing it to practice land surveying.

I think its a moot point at this time. It never made it out of the Assembly before the September 13 deadline and so it won’t make it to Newsom’s desk this year.

The fact that it was largely gutted and then stalled out in committee several months back may be telling as to its chances of being resurrected next year in its current form.

I thought currently license professionals were restricted from operating under an LLC in CA?
