CalFire has two Transportation Surveyor positions that are currently being advertised until Jan 29, 2020:

These positions require 50% travel on a regular basis. Crews work 10 hours a day 4 days a week in the field and office. Projects are a wide variety of boundary, topo, site documentation, and right-of-ways around the state. Two man crews perform field to finish projects and are responsible for research, field work, office calculations, and final products.
