The Transportation Surveyor Party Chief in Caltrans is the first level of supervision, and is responsible for the operation of the Survey Party. We use modern technology, and methods (Mobile Terrestrial Laser Scanning, Real Time Networks, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, 3D Model Corridor Template Construction Staking, "pegbook" notekeeping on a mobile device, etc.) to perform topograpic, boundary, construction, and structure monitoring surveying.

This one is a Transportation Surveyor in our Right of Way Engineering (RWE) Branch at the District Office, resolving boundary, making maps, and preparing deeds:
