Free Peer Review Of ROS Maps

Post by Sunburned_Surveyor »

I wanted to make myself available for peer review of record-of-survey maps for fellow surveyors in California. I'm happy to take an hour or two to look over your record-of-survey map before it goes into a county surveyor. This might be especially helpful for newly licensed land surveyors. I can look at your draft submittal package right before it goes into the County, or talk about what should be on your map after your boundary survey is complete but before you start drafting. I'll do this at no charge. You can e-mail me at landon.blake@redefinedhorizons.com for help with map review. I'm sure I will learn new things from this experience. Please reach out to me for help if you feel it would benefit you. I know my maps are always improved with a good peer review. You can also text me at 209-298-7521.

What an exceptional idea! I look back on the first 5 years after getting my license and for sure I would have taken advantage of this offer. Great idea, Landon. A second set of eyes can be invaluable.

Thanks Landon for the offer. It is also good for smaller firms to build a good relationship with other surveyors to discuss and review maps and ideas among other licensee's, as I have a handful of local surveyors I can always pick a brain or two.

My current issue on peer reviews is; I recently have contacted a couple professionals residing south of me, and they don't have the time to even respond to a voice message or email. So what's the point of peer review? It simply tells me don't waste my time to try to contact certain individuals.

Now back to our Covid 19 programming!
