2020 Conference???

So the conference was held last week, by virtual technology due to Covid, and I have not heard any comments?
Was this a success, or were there technical issues? I did not participate this year (other than sponsorship support) simply because there was not enough sessions that interested me to participate, and the non-required hours needed for continuing education. I do participate in the voluntary continuing education program CLSA promotes, and have enough hours from other activities.

I am interested to hear from those who participated on how this was, and your feed back?

I found it just as good as the "real thing"!

We just have to re-wire our way of thinking until there is a safe vaccine. What I missed were the social interactions.
(If we "re-wire" our thinking too much . . . it will cripple the casinos/restaurants/etc. As a "social" species and we will gladly embrace going back to the casinos/etc.)

Gary Kent's "shared" sample of Federal Rule 26 report was worth the price of admission. That one presentation - was worth the price of admission!

CFEDs presentations were fascinating and informative as to where the bones are buried. Another was Native American lands! Stepping foot on their grounds requires reverence/respect liken visiting historical Jerusalem.

And Steve Parrish never fails to deliver a thoughtful example of real-world survey. Great presentation, Steve! (And always with intriguing photographs!)

There were man discussions and questions just like an in-person conference!

I'm surprised more haven't chimed in here . . .

Great news Phil and thank you for the reply.

As you mentioned, I too am surprised that the CLSA Executives, and Directors (or any participants) hadn't made any comments, thus my post.
But then as CLSA has been very quiet, it doesn't surprise me the lack of comments. Unfortunately it seems they are only keeping the wheel in motion, and it's business as usual. Part of the reason I am not as active as I use to be. Hopefully people wake up and make the association as strong as it use to be, but it takes participation and making positive strides. Yes it is all about volunteers, and their dedication of time, but then it's all relative to the history of our great profession. Until next conference Phil, or get together the first beer is on me, because you were the first to take the time to reply!

Hi Keith, I thought the conference was very good to excellent. I did miss the opportunity to travel somewhere and also to see other Land Surveyors discussing things, students helping out; all the human interaction.

And Crazy Phil forgot - John Stahl's "Role of the First Surveyor" was chuck-full of law, best practices and beaucoup considerations!

Stahl's presentation was one of many informative presentations.
