CRTN stations down?

Hi folks,
We’re noticing that csrc stations UCSF, SWEP, MHDL, EBMD are not ‘working’, but stations P181 & P178 are. I’m trying to figure out if this is a data collector issue or CSRC issue. It appears that corrections are being received on our end, but no ‘fix’ is ever achieved.

Is anyone seeing this, or have any tips?

Please email Dr. Bock to report your specific issues. The CRTN status maps shows all of those stations as currently up.

He only knows of issues if users report them unless it is a server type problem.

Thanks for the advice SPMPLS, I've let them know. Interestingly, this morning those and several other Bay Area stations were appearing as inactive on the CRTN status map, then as 'active' moments ago. Upon testing though, we encountered the same issues. We'll see what happens I guess. If anyone has any insight on this or is currently getting a solution with these stations UCSF, SWEP, MHDL, EBMD please let us know.

Are you able to connect but not get usable corrections? This happened with UCD1 when BARD upgraded the receiver to a Septentrio unit. I can connect, but can't get a solution. Yehuda says everything is okay, but I'm thinking something is misconfigured.

I've been trying to get someone else to try UCD1 and report their results, but so far no takers. :(

P.S. It's not that I don't receive any data from UCD1 -- I do -- but my rover is unable to use it to generate a position.

Yes - able to connect, but no solution. It seems to be the BARD stations that are problematic. Thanks for the info Mr. Frame, it seems similar to what you are describing.

I think you hit on something, Jim. I am having the same issue with recently swapped out NetRS tor PolarX5's

I asked one of the Javad engineers to look into this and sent him a project file in which I tried to use UCD1. Here's the gist of his reply (note that English isn't his first language, is probably Russian or Ukrainian):

I guess UCD1 data provider eliminates ambiguties and iono from transmitted data. If so then how receiver can detect this using RTCM.

I sent his full response to Yehuda for review.

Yehuda has verified a problem with the Septentrio stations, and has advised BARD staff. Apparently there was a problem with Septentrio firmware identified previously, so perhaps the bug hasn't been squashed yet.

Several folks are involved with trying to solve this issue, including the tech team at Septentrio. Jim and I have both been looped in on the email chatter. I am sure one of us will post when it has been resolved.

The problem seems to be in the translation from BINEX to RTCM3. For testing purposes BARD has temporarily reconfigured some of the receivers to stream directly to the caster rather than going through the translator first. As a result I'm able to get usable corrections now from UCD1.
