A SURVEYOR’S CHRISTMAS
Twas the night before Christmas and I sip a bit of my ale,
COVID has taken from us this year but our spirits will prevail;
A recession we've seen many times in the past,
but COVID took many lives unlike the recessions and with that, I am aghast;
I have seen many things affect our profession, and with that I must say,
this is not like we've seen before and we should collectively pray;
For those on the front lines providing for us,
My hats off to you as you are all selfless;
I look forward to see 2020 come to an end,
and to the success of the vaccine of which we depend;
As I was a victim of the COVID above, not infected but furloughed instead,
I have since retired and look forward to my good times ahead;
With that, I will wish my brother's in arms who still are in this business,
A Happy New Year and a very Merry Christmas.
