I have been asked quite a few times by County Surveyors to place a City/County boundary line on my Records of Surveys. Does anyone see this as a requirement for a Record of Survey?
A city limit line is a political subdivision like a zoning district boundary or a school district.

I think this is more of a convention - related to the indexing duties of the CS,
Similar to subdivision maps, where it is a jurisdictional issue.
I suppose that you could push back on it, but it is useful information nonetheless.

No requirement but if asked I would state it as "Boundary of City of ? Per County Assessor Maps, placed at request of County Surveyor"

MarinMap (the GIS website) shows the limit line and what jurisdiction the parcel is in. I wouldn't necessarily expect the city limit lines drawn down right-of-ways would be in the correct spot - north, center, south, etc.
The tax assessor probably has it correct - taxing benefit districts, city wide taxes, etc. requires it.
