Hello.
I haven't done this in 20 years but was wondering if anyone has had success requesting local police assistance when
accessing monuments in busy streets and intersections.
Thanks.
Mike

No I'm not kidding Phil. I doubt I'll be able to get any help though.
20 years ago, a local policeman came out after I called and directed traffic while we accessed
and shot a section corner in a mon. box.

Re: Traffic control requests from police
Those days,(or is it daze(?)), are gone . . .
I see street area construction projects all the time using traffic safety folks specifically for signage, cones, traffic control. I'd bet it costs thousands to hire those folks. They're worth it for one's safety, health and I imagine OSHA!
Good luck, Mike.

Actually I've had some luck. The survey is in Fremont. I got a call back from the traffic unit and he seemed
willing to provide assistance. We will see.
Yeah I've seen those traffic control firms. I imagine they are very expensive.

Fremont Blvd. The centerline that was moved.
I did a survey 25 years ago in which I had to go out at 5 am on a Sunday morning, Jackhammer the Mon. Lid and get my shot
in the Middle of the lane, Traffic was fine at that time, I was more nervous about upsetting the nearby condo residences.

Wingding.
Ok the map I have is from 1977 and shows mons. at intersection of Fremont/Mowry and Fremont and Monroe. Looks like I'll have
to check with the City Public Works to see if they have a drawing showing centerline adjustment. There is no other maps of record showing
this on file with Alameda County. Thanks for the info.
