The Public Works Department seeks an experienced Survey Party Chief to join the Construction Services Division. The Survey Party Chief is considered an advanced journey-level classification and is responsible for the effective performance, training and safety of all members of a field survey crew. A Survey Party Chief is distinguished from the classes of Survey Technician I/II by its sole assignment of surveying duties.

Candidates must possess an equivalent to journey level experience in field survey work and possess a California Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) Certificate. An equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to perform the essential job functions and provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
