I wonder if our legislators know what we do and that we are the ones who prepare SB-9 maps.

It sure would be nice if we had the chance to educate them! The last time I did this, I had a great time and I was able to garner support for an important CLSA bill.

Wouldn't it be great if CLSA could support something like the attached? It would be nice if there was standardization to follow on something as basic as performing a boundary survey. Many new surveyors need help here as evidenced by forum posts and my own involvement with others. Others participated in developing this paper including Paul Cuomo.

I developed the www.tiepoints.com website to provide some guidance to the surveying community. I need to update it.

There is so much we could be doing to promote the profession.

I'm trying to get people rounded up and excited. It's a lot of work, we need to develop a network of volunteers to help.
This is the kind of effort I was sort of expecting to hear about when talking about volunteering for CLSA... We have a good pool of early career people who may be able to help with content, if we start including them more in CLSA activities.

We need a call for contributors, and I am not only talking people who can produce high level technical articles. It takes a lot of additional talent to produce professional looking content. This would also give us the opportunity to get to know up and comers and get them excited about the profession.

We'll see, I am about to get sworn in as a secretary at my chapter, any day now. I already brought up that we need more membership engagement, I'll have to figure out what works as I go. I'm not the best 'people person out there' but I will keep trying. Anyone who wants to assist is welcome.

So, where do we start?

Great! When I ran national surveyors week years ago, I got donation of about $500.00 per a number of companies! We had thousands of dollars to work with. Keep it up!
