I'm working on a survey in Santa Clara County in Section 20, an irregular section that is fully lotted (16 lots). When monumenting the lot corners, should they be marked as 1/16ths ?
The only thing I could find in the manual on lot corner monuments pertains to elongated sections.

Good question! I wouldn't do it that way to avoid confusion. I always have to triple check everything when deeds interchange aliquot portions with lots. I have found that some of the original patents even interchanged them as the original surveys developed. If you are talking about stamping the caps, I would go all out and put a cross with all 4 appropriate lot numbers on each corner cap if I could.
This sounds like a cool project, I've never had an opportunity to monument an entire section like that!
