Governor's proclamation of Surveyor's week?
Has this happened before, has CLSA organized something like this in the past.
I was digging through NSPS info re. surveyor's week and stumbled over instructions how to apply for this. It is too late for this year, but there's always another year...
Any thoughts?

It is typically a Resolution by the Assembly and the Senate which is introduced, adopted, and presented to representatives from CLSA, ACEC, and BPELSG.

I am assuming those are different from CA Governor's proclamations?Warren Smith wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2024 12:19 pm It is typically a Resolution by the Assembly and the Senate which is introduced, adopted, and presented to representatives from CLSA, ACEC, and BPELSG.

They are - from a legislative perspective, it is a much more egalitarian effort to have a unanimous acclamation on the floor during an active session.
That doesn't mean that the Governor's office couldn't be contacted for the same recognition.

Thanks, that makes sense!!!Warren Smith wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2024 12:50 pm They are - from a legislative perspective, it is a much more egalitarian effort to have a unanimous acclamation on the floor during an active session.

I was planning and scheming in my head about, you know how governor is called upon to declare state emergencies... and was pondering about how many surveyors keep talking about how the future of surveying is in an alarming state.
Then some of the old communist propaganda came to mind, when government officials would proclaim how it is honorable and serves the society and protects everyone's interests to take up certain causes (back there it often had to do with calling people to action to maintain their own city and back yard by volunteering).
We're having such a hard time with the image and public recognition of surveying, that, well, if our governor could be compelled to take up the cause in order to preserve and protect this states real-estate investment stability, and especially in light of more an more natural disasters being expected, which in turn will wipe out people's boundaries...
Maybe we can get our governor to make a proclamation about how surveyors are important to the society, in honor of surveyor's week 2025. Look forward to the rest of the 21st century and set it it up for success... or some such motivational phraseology....
I know I'm always reaching for longshots, but sometimes they actually come to fruition, so why not.
