New NSRS2022

Post by TTaylor »

So, for the last several years I have been asking NGS for the new projection parameters from lat/long to the new SPC.

I have not received any info of interest to date from them.

The whole single Lambert semi floating plane ifor SPC is confusing to me.

Can anybody clarify this approach for me in a clear way?

Email Michael Dennis at NGS. He is the SPC2022 guru.

I''ve done that for several years.

His responses are unsatisfactory and ...well vapid.

I thought those that supported his approach here in CA would have some more insight from a geodetic perspective.

Namely, more info on the technical parameters of this new datun.

I have come to the conclusion that this whole one parallel, floating plane approach is just a small time back yard survey approach to a geodetic issue.

The reason I asked the original question is Iam more than happy to be educated on new ways of thinking.

However, I think NGS knows that his approach is not viable.
