Position: Land Surveyor (office) License not required
Location: Greater Los Angeles Area, California - Hybrid remote work is available
General Description:
Under general supervision, the office surveyor will perform detailed analysis of electric utility rights-of-way in connection with electric distribution construction projects, transmission line corridors and other land rights projects. The surveyor will also perform research on existing and proposed electric utility easements, permits, deeds and other entitlements as it relates to land title matters. The surveyor will produce a variety of comprehensive reports involving opinions, provisions, restrictions, and other terms relative to the land rights of the company.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Previous experience working as a land surveyor, title examiner or right of way analyst
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrate the ability to plot and analyze complex metes & bounds and centerline legal descriptions
• Demonstrate the ability to interpret title reports, land title documents, deeds, and plot right-of-way boundaries from legal descriptions
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs, Adobe Acrobat and other Windows based programs
• Must be available and responsive on a daily basis by phone and email M-F 8am to 5pm
• Demonstrate good research and investigation skills, understanding legal terms relative to land title matters
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Two (2) or more years of experience performing advanced surveying, land title and real property analysis functions. College course work in a related field of study, or a combination of formal training, education and experience is preferred. Thorough knowledge of surface title principles and terminology.
